We are seeking an international business development/sales consultant to provide expert-level insight of the North American construction industry to our clients in Europe to support their sales efforts in North America. You will advise our clients on how they might expand their markets by identifying new opportunities and applying best practices to leverage these opportunities. You will support the sales team by researching high potential leads, develop relationships to decision makers and support the sales efforts during all opportunity phases (from recognition of needs to decision and implementation) to increase sales for our European partners.

Responsibilities

Planning and execution of projects, including advising companies on their U.S. market entry and expansion strategy; tasks may include researching potential markets, relevant associations, and sales channels; conducting competitor analyses; generating marketing strategies and materials, and more.

Work with stakeholders to create business plans that identify needs, goals, and options to achieve success. Identify and assess viability of new business opportunities by applying SWOT analysis and including risks and return on investment potential.

Lead or support the direct sales efforts of European building products in your sales territory. Generate new high potential leads that result in new opportunities and additional sales.

Maintain and grow relationships with clients and other business partners.

Analyze economic trends and European industries to identify potential companies that can be attracted to expand to the US market, as well as contact decision-makers and conduct informational and recruitment interviews.

Stay informed while continually increasing knowledge of policy issues and technological developments in key industries (Construction industry with focus on high performance buildings).

Preparing project reports for the department head, client, or other stakeholders.

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, industrial engineering, finance, architecture, or related field

High affinity for US business culture and the US-European relationship.

Excellent presentation and negotiation skills in English; C1 German language skills are desirable

In-depth knowledge and experience in the areas of market analysis, competitive analysis, strategy development for companies and business units
-
Knowledge of research and economic trends, topics, and their players in the US and Germany.

Sound knowledge and experience in project management

Professional skills and experience in structuring and visualizing on-screen presentations

Experience in sales in the construction industry or a relevant field

Familiarity with CRM and Microsoft Office Suite

Demonstrable project management, analytical and interpersonal skills

Strong grasp of business fundamentals, including finance, marketing, economics, operations, strategy

Demonstrable commitment to business ethics and corporate social responsibility

Strong written and verbal communication skills
